Follow these easy steps to get your Zanussi ZTR 57 R Refrigerator up and running in no time.
Remove all securing tapes from the refrigerator. Check the appliance for any transport damage. If there is any damage, do not use the appliance and contact the retailer immediately.
Before first use, clean the inside of the refrigerator with a solution of lukewarm water and bicarbonate of soda (5 ml to 0.5 litre of water). Do not use soap or detergent as they may leave a strong odor. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
Place the refrigerator in a location where temperatures will not fall below 10°C (50°F) or rise above 32°C (90°F). Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the appliance: leave a space of 100 mm (4 inches) at the top and 50 mm (2 inches) on either side. The back should be close to the wall but not touching it.
Adjust the level of the refrigerator by screwing out the adjustable feet at the bottom using your fingers. The appliance must be level to ensure proper door closure and efficient operation.
Connect the refrigerator to an appropriate power outlet. It must be earthed and the connection should be made by a qualified electrician if necessary. Ensure the appliance does not stand on the electrical supply cable.
After positioning, leave the refrigerator to stand for 2 hours before turning it on. This allows the refrigerant to settle.
Turn the thermostat dial inside the refrigerator to the desired position. The thermostat has 6 positions, with 1 being the least cold and 6 the coldest. An intermediate setting is usually sufficient. Allow 24 hours for the temperature to stabilize after any changes.
